Antique oil painting study of woman and child visiting husband in prison by Fred Allen 1806. Possibly a French scene (soldier's uniform looks French). Provenance on label on reverse: "Painted by Fred Allen 1806". Oil on board. Gilt frame. Size of frame: 14.5 x 11.75 inches. Size of painting: 13.5 x 10.75 inches. Weight: 500g (allow 3.5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gilt frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. Best described as shabby chic. This is a genuine antique original and authentic work of art which I have had remounted in a period frame. I do not sell reproductions or fakes.
