Antique oil painting portrait study of two ladies reading a letter. English School, circa 1880-40. Actual portrait is unsigned but the name "Grieg" is written on the reverse". Oil on panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a lady reading a letter to a girl. Size of frame: 14.5 x 12.5 inches; Size of portrait: 12 x 10 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 11.5 x 9.5 inches. Weight: 1.2 kg (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some minor knocks to gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
