Antique oil painting portrait study of two crying children. English School, circa 1880-1900. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Wooden frame (more modern). Depicts a couple of miserable children, both crying. Size of frame: 16.5 x 12.5 inches; Size of canvas: 15 x 11 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 14 x 10 inches. Weight: 675g (allow 3 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and lots of craquelure but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This painting is quite sombre and melancholy and, although photographed in daylight, please understand that it is quite dark in reality.
