Antique oil painting portrait study of girl knitting attributed to James John Hill. English School, circa 1870-90. Unsigned, but attributed to James John Hill (British, 1811-1882). Depicts a young lady knitting. Oil on board. Gilt frame. Size of frame: 12 x 10.25 inches; Size of portrait: 11 x 9.5 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 8 x 6.5 inches. Weight: 913g (allow 3 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, some paint flaking in bottom righthand corner, the gilt frame is a little delicate/fragile and has some minor knocks and gilt missing but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. A charming portrait.
