Antique oil painting portrait study of family with horses and dog. English School, circa 1800-40. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame (more modern). Depicts a couple with their children, horses and dog in attendance. Size of frame: 19.5 x 18 inches; Size of panel: 15 x 13.5 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 14.5 x 12.5 inches. Weight: 1.7 kg (allow 6 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches with lots of craquelure but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This painting is quite sombre and melancholy and, although photographed in daylight, please understand that it is quite dark in reality.
