Antique oil painting portrait study of curious chicks. English, circa 1910-20. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Distressed elaborate gilt gesso frame. Size of frame: 17 x 14.75 inches; Size of canvas: 10 x 8.25 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 10 x 7.75 inches. Weight: 2.3 kg (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame ie significant damage and plaster loss. Priced accordingly. This frame is extremely delicate and vulnerable to damage in transit, even with good packing. On this occasion, therefore, the painting is offered for sale alone and the frame does not form part of the price. The frame will, however, be included in the purchase for free. That is to say, if you are purchasing this item, then it is on the understanding that it is the painting alone and the frame will be included as a gift (and therefore accepting any and all responsibility for damage in transit).
