Antique oil painting portrait study of children reading. English School, circa 1930s. Unsigned, artist unknown. Depicts a girl and boy reading a book with a cat on the front. Oil on canvas. Size: 20 x 14.5 inches; Weight: 700g (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure, some areas of paint loss and flaking and lots of areas of damage ie tears to canvas with several large repairs to reverse but all part of its charm and character. Please note the stretcher is improvised ie made from a packing case. The antique wood of this item has had a minor woodworm infestation at some point in its long life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Priced accordingly.
