Antique oil painting portrait study of a young girl reading a letter entitled Good News by FJ Turner. English School, circa 1890-1900. Artist's name on the frame. Oil on canvas. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a young girl in red shawl reading a letter - entitled "Good News" on frame. Size of frame: 26 x 18.75 inches; Size of canvas: 17.75 x 10.5 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 17.25 x 10.5 inches. Weight: 4.1 kg (allow 8 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and some minor knocks to gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
