Antique oil painting portrait of lady in white lace collar and bonnet. English School, circa 1820-30. Unsigned, artist unknown. Provenance on label on reverse of sitter: "Portrait of Sarah Brown born 4th November 1788 died 17th July 1846. Married Joseph Gillett on 19th July 1823. They had 3 children." Oil on canvas. Gilt frame. Depicts a lady in black dress with white lace collar and bonnet. Size of frame: 24 x 20 inches; Size of canvas: 21 x 17 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 20.5 x 17 inches. Weight: 1.4 kg (allow 6 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and some damage to canvas with a couple of repairs to reverse but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
