Antique large landscape oil painting of lake through trees signed H Couck. Dutch or Belgian, circa 1920s. Signed by the artist, H Couck. Some provenance: there is a little announcement card in the back of the frame (see last photo) which is dated April 1940 and has the artist's name, Couck de Brabander, Leopoldstad (Belgian Congo) so possibly a Colonial piece. Oil on canvas. Depicts lake with mountains in the background. Slightly Impressionist in style. Size: 29 x 23.5 inches. Weight: 1.1 kg (allow 7.5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
