Antique landscape oil painting of shepherd and sheep signed L Richards. English, circa 1910-30. Signed by the artist. Apparently "L Richards" is a pseudonym for the artist Daniel Sherrin (British, 1868-1940). Oil on canvas remounted onto new canvas backing. Gilt gesso frame. Depicts a village scene with shepherd and sheep at sunset. Size of frame: 26 x 21.5 inches; Size of canvas: 20 x 16 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 19.5 x 14.5 inches. Weight: 2.9 kg (allow 7 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and some knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
