Antique landscape oil painting of Lovers Leap Middleton Dale Derbyshire by W Highfield. English, circa 1900. Signed by the artist, William Highfield (British, 1870-1957). Middleton Dale is a valley in Derbyshire, England (provenance on reverse) - "Middleton Dale, Lovers Leap, Derbyshire". Oil on canvas. Gilt frame. Size of frame: 32 x 23.5 inches. Size of canvas: 24.25 x 16 inches. Weight: 3.4 kg (allow 10 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. Similar paintings by this artist are on display in Eyam Museum, Derbyshire.
