Antique landscape oil painting of Lake Thirlmere Westmoreland signed Basil Roe. English, circa 1900. Signed by the artist. Oil on canvas. Depicts lake and mountains with Scots pines and duck - provenance on reverse: "Lake Thirlmere, Westmoreland", in the Lake District. Size: 24 x 16 inches. Weight: 886g (allow 6 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and some paint loss but all part of its charm and character. The antique wood of this item has had a minor woodworm infestation at some point in its long life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Please note that, as the paint has started to flake from off the painting already, it is possible that more may flake off later so please be aware of this - thanks. Priced accordingly.
