Antique Italian still life oil painting study of dead game birds by Michaelangelo Meucci. Italian, dated 1875. Signed by the artist (Italian, 1940-1909). Oil on board/panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts dead game birds/oiseaux. Size of frame: 25 x 21 inches; Size of board/panel: 19 x 15 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 18.5 x 14.5 inches. Weight: 3.4 kg (allow 10 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from plaster gesso frame with some repairs but all part of its charm and character. Best described as shabby chic. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
