Antique Italian oil painting of a mythological scene by Taddeo Zuccaro. Continental, Italian, circa 1530-60. Artist's name on reverse in ink plus wax seal: "Taddeo Zuccaro (1529-1566)". Oil on panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a mythological scene with figure playing harp, horse, rabbits and sheep. Renaissance in style. Size of frame: 14.5 x 12.5 inches; Size of panel: 9.25 x 7.5 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 8.75 x 6.75 inches. Weight: 880g (allow 3 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and some cracks , knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
