Antique Irish oil painting portrait study of donkeys and geese. Irish School, circa 1900-20. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts three donkeys and a flock of geese. A Primitive Folk piece. Size of frame: 23.25 x 17.25 inches. Size of canvas: 18 x 12 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 17.5 x 11.5 inches. Weight: 1.8 kg (allow 6 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure, some small areas of damage to canvas with several small repairs to reverse and some minor knocks to frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
