Antique Impressionist river landscape oil painting of bathers at sunset (1 of 2). English School, circa 1920s. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on board. Black carved wooden frame. Depicts nude bathers at sunset with trees and castle on bank. Size of frame: 20 x 18.25 inches. Size of painting: 17.5 x 15.5 inches. Front painting aperture: 16.75 x 15 inches. Weight: 1.45 kg (allow up to 6 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some knocks to and pieces missing from wooden frame but all part of its charm and character. The antique wood of this item has had a woodworm infestation at some point in its long life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Please note there are lots of holes and the woodworm has permeated to the front of the painting which is unusual. Priced accordingly.
