Antique Impressionist river landscape oil painting by Peter Brannan. English, circa 1960s. Signed on the reverse by the artist - Peter Brannan RBA. Oil on board. Elaborate gilt gesso frame - distressed. Impressionist study of boats on river. The painting is vintage but the frame is antique. Size of frame: 19.75 x 16 inches; Size of painting: 14.5 x 10.5 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 13.75 x 9.5 inches. Weight: 2.8 kg (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. Best described as shabby chic. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
