It is signed "Venice 1900" but unsigned by the artist; however, there is provenance on label on reverse as follows: "The Doges Palace, Venice. F R Unterberger". "Franz Richard UNTERBERGER (1838-1902), a remarkable figure of Austrian-Belgian Romanticism" (Wikipedia). Oil on canvas. Gilt frame. Impressionist in style. Size of frame: 23.5 x 19.5 inches; Size of canvas: 18 x 14.25 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 17.75 x 13.75 inches. Weight: 1.5 kg - allow 6 kg volumetric weight once packed. Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, some damage to canvas with a couple of repairs to reverse and some knocks and scuffs to gilt frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
