Antique glazed watercolour painting portrait study of a lady in lace bonnet coat and cape collar dated 1844. English School, dated 44 (1844). Signed by the artist but tricky to decipher. Watercolour painting. Distressed gilt gesso frame. Glazed. Size of frame: 11 x 10 inches; Size of portrait: 9 x 8 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 8.5 x 7.5 inches. Weight: 1.9 kg (allow 3 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Apologies for glass reflection in photos. Priced accordingly. Best described as shabby chic. Please DO satisfy yourself as to the condition before buying. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged. Please understand this before committing to buy and it will need to be understood that the buyer accepts this risk if having the item delivered by courier.
