Antique Georgian/early Victorian oil painting study of a stagecoach and horses. English School, circa 1800-40. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on panel. Gilt gesso frame (distressed). Depicts stagecoach with four horses crossing a stone bridge with children in pursuit. Size of frame: 14.25 x 9.75 inches; Size of panel: 10.5 x 6 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 9.75 x 5.5 inches. Weight: 870g (allow 3.5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. Best described as shabby chic or faded grandeur. This is a genuine antique original and authentic work of art which I have had remounted in a period frame. All the paintings I offer are unique and period. Just for the sake of clarity, please note that this painting is not glazed.
