Antique Georgian/early Victorian oil painting portrait study of children with cat and chickens. English School, circa 1800-40. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on panel. Gilt frame. Depicts a domestic scene with 3 children sitting around a table, blowing bubbles from a clay pipe, cooking pot on the fire, with cat and chickens in attendance. Size of frame: 21 x 17 inches; Size of panel: 13 x 9 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 17.5 x 13.5 inches. Weight: 2.4 kg (allow 7 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
