Antique Georgian portrait in pastel of a gentleman (1 of 2). English, circa 1800-40. Unsigned, artist unknown. Glazed pastel in gilt frame. Size of frame: 24.5 x 20 inches. Size of portrait: 19 x 14.5 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 22 x 17.5 inches. Weight: 2.8 kg (allow 8 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - some knocks to and pieces missing from gilt frame but all part of its charm and character. Apologies for light reflection in photos. Priced accordingly. This painting is quite sombre and melancholy and, although photographed in daylight, please understand that it is quite dark in reality. NOTE: collection recommended due to the portrait being glazed. I am willing to post, and will pack well, but all risk of damage must rest with the buyer. Therefore, no returns can be accepted for this reason.
