Antique Georgian oil painting portrait study of pigs in sty by George Morland. English School, dated 1787. Signed with artist's monogram GM (George Morland). Oil on panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a couple of pigs in their sty. Size of frame: 17 x 15 inches. Size of panel: 11 x 9 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 10.25 x 8.25 inches. Weight: 1.7 kg (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure, some knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame and please note the panel is slightly warped but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
