Antique Georgian oil painting portrait study of horse and goat. English School, circa 1800-40. Unsigned, artist unknown, but was sourced from Torquay, Devon, West Country, England. Oil on canvas. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a white horse and goat. Size of frame: 13.5 x 12 inches. Size of canvas: 10 x 8 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 9.5 x 7.5 inches. Weight: 939g (allow 3 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, significant craquelure and some knocks and cracks to gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
