Antique Georgian oil painting portrait study of farm scene with donkeys, pigs and dogs After George Morland. English School, circa 1800-50. Unsigned, artist unknown but thought to be After George Morland. Oil on panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a farm scene with donkeys, pigs and dogs with farmer and wife looking on. Size of frame: 15.5 x 14.25 inches. Size of panel: 12 x 10 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 11 x 10 inches. Weight: 1.13 kg (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and some knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
