Antique Georgian early Victorian portrait in oil on canvas of senior lady in bonnet (Mary Stephens). English school, circa 1800-40. Unsigned, artist unknown. "Portrait of Mary Stephens" in handwriting on reverse. Oil on canvas. Gilt and wood frame. Size of frame: 28.5 x 23.5 inches; Size of canvas: 25.25 x 20 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 24.5 x 19.5 inches. Weight: 2.7 kg (allow up to 10 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some knocks to and pieces missing from the frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
