Antique Georgian early Victorian oil painting study of shepherds by inn with horses (2 of 2). English School, circa 1820-60. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas but remounted on new canvas backing. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Size of frame: 13.5 x 12 inches; Size of canvas: 9.5 x 7.5 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 8.5 x 7 inches. Weight: 1.2 kg (allow 4 kg volumetric weight once packed). Reasonable condition for its age - some craquelure and minor scuffs but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged. Please understand this before committing to buy and it will need to be understood that the buyer accepts this risk if having the item delivered by courier.
