Antique Georgian early Victorian oil painting portrait of children in gesso frame

Antique Georgian early Victorian oil painting portrait of children in gesso frame. Scottish School, circa 1800-1820. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Provenance on reverse - Edinburgh label. The children have exaggerated size heads which is typical of the period. Size of frame: 25 x 22 inches. Size of canvas: 14 x 12 inches. Weight: 4 kg (allow 10 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, some restoration work and some knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame (some damage to bottom righthand corner) but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. A beautiful old portrait - best described as Faded Grandeur. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged. Please understand this before committing to buy and it will need to be understood that the item cannot be returned for this reason.
