Antique Georgian early Victorian oil painting on tin study of a digger, boy and dog. English School, circa 1800-40. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on tin. Gilt gesso frame. Depicts a man and boy taking a break from digging, with their dog. Size of frame: 15 x 13 inches. Size of painting: 12.5 x 10.25 inches. Size of front aperture: 12 x 9.75 inches. Weight: 900g (allow 3.5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some minor knocks to gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
