Antique townscape oil painting of street signed F C Gaer. French, circa 1880. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Ornate gilt gesso frame (distressed). Depicts a street scene with ruined castle and church. Size of frame: 17 x 15 inches. Size of canvas: 10.5 x 8.5 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 10.5 x 8.25 inches. Weight: 1.75 kg (allow 7.5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Tatty condition, commensurate with age - Large crack in frame. Various superficial marks & scratches and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from the gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
