Antique French religious black silk and net cape by A La Religieuse, Paris size S/M. Silk and net composition. Maker's label at neck - La Religieuse, Paris - possibly church vestment outfitters. Round collar, hook & eye fastenings on long tie sections at front, shorter cape with silk and net sections - exquisite. Size: Length at back: 25.5 inches; Length of longer front tie sections: 38.5 inches. Weight: allow up to 1 kg once packed. Tatty condition, commensurate with age and use - some wear to net fabric mainly at neck inside collar, some small pulls here and there and a hole at hem but easily fixed with a stitch - an absolutely beautiful thing. A wonderful display item (if not to be worn). Priced accordingly.
