Antique French portrait in pastel by Leon Printemps dated 1923. Signed by the artist and dated 1923. A bit about the artist: "Léon Printemps (26 May 1871 – 9 July 1945) was a French artist known best for his work as a portrait and landscape painter" (Wikipedia). Size of gesso frame: 24.5 x 20.5 inches. Size of portrait: 20 x 16 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 19 x 15 inches. Weight: 2.95 kg (allow 8 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some knocks and cracks to the elaborate gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This is a genuine antique original and authentic work of art which I have had remounted in a period frame. I do not sell reproductions or fakes.
