Antique French oil painting portrait study of society lady at dressing table. French School, circa 1910-20. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Size of frame: 20 x 14.5 inches; Size of canvas: 15.25 x 10 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 15 x 9.5 inches. Weight: 1.48 kg (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and lots of knocks to gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. The frame is not original to the work although the painting has been reframed in an ornate period frame. Priced accordingly. Best described as shabby chic.
