Antique French oil painting portrait study of deceased lady. French, circa 1900. Signed by the artist but tricky to decipher signature. Oil on canvas. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts an elderly lady either sleeping or deceased. Size of frame: 14 x 12.5 inches; Size of canvas: 9.5 x 7.5 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 8.75 x 6.75 inches. Weight: 1.2 kg (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and a small area of damage to canvas with a repair to reverse but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
