Antique French oil painting portrait study of children and dogs. French School, circa 1800-50. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Size of frame: 17 x 13 inches; Size of panel: 13 x 9 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 12 x 8.25 inches. Weight: 2.1 kg (allow 6 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. The antique wood of this item has had a minor woodworm infestation at some point in its long life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Priced accordingly.
