Antique French oil painting portrait study of aristocratic young boy. French School, circa 1880-1900. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a aristocratic young boy. Size of frame: 23.5 x 20 inches; Size of portrait: 16 x 12.5 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 16 x 13 inches. Weight: 3.6 kg (allow 8 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, significant craquelure and some minor knocks to gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
