Antique French oil painting portrait of a nun. French, circa 1880-1900. Oil on canvas. Gilt frame. Depicts a nun in habit. Size of frame: 13 x 10.5 inches; Size of canvas: 10.75 x 8.5 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 10 x 7.75 inches. Weight: 485g (allow 3 kg volumetric weight once packed). Tatty, damaged condition - various superficial marks & scratches, lots of craquelure, significant damage to canvas on the face area with repair to reverse and some knocks to and pieces missing from gilt frame but all part of its charm and character. The antique wood of this item has had a minor woodworm infestation at some point in its long life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Priced accordingly. Best described as shabby chic. Please satisfy yourself as to the condition before buying - I think it's lovely as is but it may not be to everyones' taste.
