Antique French oil painting portrait of a lady in shawl. Continental School, probably French. Circa 1900-30. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Gilt gesso frame (distressed). Depicts a lady with brown shawl. Size of frame: 27 x 22 inches; Size of canvas: 24 x 18 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 23 x 18 inches. Weight: 2.2 kg (allow 8 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Best described as shabby chic. Priced accordingly. Please DO satisfy yourself as to the condition before buying - thanks. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
