Antique French landscape oil painting study of hamlet. French School, circa 1900. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on panel. Distressed gilt gesso frame. Depicts country cottages on a lane in a hamlet in France. Size of frame: 14 x 12 inches; Size of panel: 9.5 x 7.75 inches. Size of front painting aperture: 8.75 x 7 inches. Weight: 1.25 kg (allow 3.5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Tatty condition, commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Best described as shabby chic. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged. Please understand this before committing to buy and it will need to be understood that the buyer accepts this risk if having the item delivered by courier.
