Antique French Impressionist landscape oil painting of snowscene at sunset signed H Rowet. French, circa 1950-60. Signed by the artist. Oil on canvas. Gilt gesso frame. Depicts a snowscene at sunset. Size of frame: 23.5 x 19.25 inches; Size of canvas: 16 x 12 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 15.5 x 11.5 inches. Weight: 2.6 kg (allow 7 kg volumetric weight once packed). Reasonable vintage condition - various superficial marks & scratches, some paint loss around the edges and some knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. The antique wood of this item has had a minor woodworm infestation at some point in its long life. However, this has now been specially treated to eradicate. Priced accordingly. The frame is not original to the work although the painting has been reframed in an ornate period frame.
