Antique French handmade long purple wool skirt size M. Outer: 100% Wool, velvet hem trim and cotton hem lining. Flat front with intricate handgathering at back, hook & eye fastening at front side, 2 side openings (for pocket bags), black cotton waistband, cotton hem lining and black velvet band at hem. Size: Waist: 26 inches; length: 35 inches. Weight: 956g (allow up to 2 kg volumetric weight once packed). Tatty condition, commensurate with age and use - lots of wear and holes to the wool skirt with large black wool/linen patches at front and back, some naive hand mends, some remaining small holes all over but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. Best described as shabby chic - not for the pristine amongst us. Nevertheless, a beautiful old skirt that has obviously been worn and loved. Ideal costume for play or theatre (if not to be worn).
