Antique French dark inky navy blue linen cotton metis dress with smocking detail and pockets initials MD size S. Linen/Cotton blend (metis). Dyed a dark inky navy blue. Sleeveless, round neck with tie, hand smocking detail at front and back, initials MD, low divided pockets added. This smock would originally have had long sleeves which have been cut out and used to create pockets. Honeycomb/waffle hand smocking detail at front and back - so unique. Size: Chest: 34 inches; Armhole width: 10 inches - nice and deep; Length: 41 inches. Weight: allow up to 1 kg once packed. Good condition for its age.
