Antique French 18th Century oil painting portrait of am aristocratic gentleman. French School, circa 1750-1800. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Gilt gesso frame. This has been remounted onto new canvas and probably been cut down from an originally larger painting. Size of frame: 20.5 x 17.5 inches; Size of canvas: 15 x 12 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 15 x 11.5 inches. Weight: 2.1 kg (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Best described as shabby chic. Priced accordingly. This is a genuine antique original and authentic work of art which I have had remounted in a period frame. All the paintings I offer are unique and period. Just for the sake of clarity, please note that this painting is not glazed.
