Antique early Victorian oil painting study of travellers with donkey. English School, circa 1820-60. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame (more modern). Depicts a travelling family with improvised camp and campfire and donkey. Size of frame: 17.5 x 12.75 inches; Size of panel: 11.25 x 7.25 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 11.25 x 6.75 inches. Weight: 1.3 kg (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some minor knocks to gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
