Antique early Victorian oil painting study of a domestic kitchen scene with senior lady called Mrs Jones of Idwell. English School, dated 1872. Signed with artist's monogram WY. Depicts a domestic kitchen scene with senior lady. Some provenance on reverse: "Mrs Jones of Idwell '72" (1872). Oil on panel. Gilt gesso frame. Size of frame: 17.75 x 15 inches; Size of panel: 15.75 x 12.5 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 15 x 12.25 inches. Weight: 940g (allow 4 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, flaking and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. Best described as shabby chic. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
