Antique early Victorian oil painting portrait study of girl step sister (3 of 3). English School, circa 1840-80. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Frame with oval aperture (more modern, circa 1920s). Depicts a young girl wearing a blue dress with lace trim, possibly the step sister to the two other sisters - see provenance on label on reverse. Size of frame: 15.5 x 13.25 inches; Size of canvas: 10 x 8.25 inches; Size of front portrait oval aperture: 9.75 x 7.5 inches. Weight: 1.76 kg (allow 3 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, a small tear on her face and a few knocks to gilt frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
