Antique Dutch landscape oil painting winter scene of cottage and skaters. Dutch School, circa 1870-90. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a cottage with frozen lake and ice skaters. Size of frame: 25.5 x 21.5 inches; Size of canvas: 21 x 16 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 20 x 16 inches. Weight: 2.6 kg (allow 8 kg volumetric weight once packed). Tatty condition, commensurate with age - various superficial marks and scratches, craquelure, some areas of damage to the canvas with several of repairs to reverse and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
