Antique Dutch handmade navy blue wool skirt size L. Dutch, circa 1900. 100% Wool. Flat front with pleated handgathering at sides, contrasting grey cotton fabric at waistband, side openings, no fastenings at waist, blue trim at hem - naive, hand stitched garment in an unfinished state. This would originally have been worn underneath a wool skirt, as a warm undergarment/underskirt. Size: Waist: 40 inches; Length: 28 inches. Weight: 760g (allow 1.5 kg once packed). Condition commensurate with age and use - waistband is worn and hand stitching is naive and primitive but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. Great costume or prop (if not to be worn). Fabulous for the cold weather. You can easily unpick this skirt and use the wool fabric for other textile/sewing projects as it is large.
