Antique Dutch Flemish oil painting portrait study of a gentleman in hat. Continental, Dutch or Flemish School, circa 1750-1800. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a gentleman in hat, proffering his hands. Size of frame: 13.25 x 11 inches; Size of panel: 8.5 x 7 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 7.75 x 5.75 inches. Weight: 1.34 kg (allow 3 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
